Introduction and Purpose
Welcome! My name is Addison. I attend my local Church of Christ. My mission is to give information about the Church of Christ and what we believe. The Bible teaches that salvation comes through hearing God's Word (Romans 10:17; Matthew 7:24-27), believing in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 11:6; Mark 16:15,16), repenting of our sins (Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30; Luke 13:3), confessing our faith in Christ (Matthew 10:32,33; Acts 8:36,37), and being baptized for the forgiveness of our sins (Romans 6:3-5; Acts 8:36-38; Mark 1:9-11). After becoming Christians, we are called to remain faithful to God throughout our lives (Revelation 2:10; John 14:15; John 14:23,24; 1 John 2:3-5). Our overall goal in life is to live a faithful, christian life. We use the life of Jesus as our guide and try to live like Him each and every day. We understand that no one is like Him. We all sin and fall short of the glory of God. Luckily for us, our God is a FORGIVING God! We repent of our sins and God forgives us and forgets our sins as long as we obey His will. Some people may stumble upon my website looking for more information about the Church of Christ. Others may use my website to do a bible study to learn more about our Lord. Rather you are learning something new or studying deeper, I hope my website helps each one of you grow in your Christian Walk!Â
What is in this article?
In this article, you will find lessons and sermons from my preacher, Mark Hastings. He studies and prepares these lessons each week and presents them to the congregation I attend during worship on Sundays. He does a great job of teaching directly from the Bible and making a clear distinction between what Scripture plainly says and personal opinions or assumptions about matters where the Bible does not give specific details. These opinions are not about matters of salvation, but about situations where Christians must use wisdom and careful judgement. In all things, we should seek to follow God's word faithfully, pray for guidance, and ask for forgiveness when we fall short.
"... If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
John 8:31,32
